The taxpayers of the Western Elmore County Recreation District reimbursed Director Marsha Sellers $78.50 for the tassels on these bookmarks. Still unknown is how many were made.
UPDATE: An Alert Reader pointed out a website that shows just how important tassells can be. From the site:
"It has been said that tassels served no real purpose, but I disagree. First and foremost, I think that there is purpose in decoration. That said, tassels can be functional on a more practical level. The tassel you hang from a skeleton key or a pair of embroidery scissors is there to ensure that the small, but very important item, is not lost in the clutter of daily living. "
I think our lives are all a lot richer now.
What a GREAT creation. I am sorry that I cannot take the credit for such a splendid use of time. One stop shop for all anyone wants to know about the WECRD and the Mickey Mouse Club of Elmore County. Well done and kudos to the creator of such a great piece of information re: the WECRD. How much did this cost to set up? It is even more up to date then the one we pay for! Nice job. You are my hero!

One more thing from old OM...are the financials on here for all to see? I have not been through this entire web page yet (so sorry). I would hate for another member of the public to be charged $70.00 for the same info that I obtained (and was charged $70.00 for). This made my day. Thank you to the brains behind this.

Clearly you people just don't understand the importance of the "tassel". I'm sure the link below will vindicate these civil servants of squandering our tax dollars.

Well pardon me but I think that YOU don't understand the importance of THE "tassel". These tassels would at least provide some recreation and are probably cheaper per unit than the WRECD "tassellated" bookmarks.

ReplyDeleteJust go to YOuTube and view the clips listed under WECRD. A picture ($700.00 +) or a clip (cost you nothing because taxpayers provided the free "entertainment" by doing the video...for FREE) says a 1,000 words or at least $700.00 + of them anyway.
